    Yesterday I took my mum, who’s over visiting me, on a day trip to Bex, a town in Switzerland famous for its salt mines. After the guided tour of the mines we decided to treat ourselves to a meal at the restaurant on site. As a lacto-vegetarian, I’m used to having to go for a salad and/or a cheese dish when I eat out. I did ask about just having side dishes but it wasn’t an option.

    My five  secrets for eating out  consciously came in very handy. They are

    1. Savour (and sip)
    2. Sharing is sociable
    3. Season well
    4. Starter over sweet
    5. To drink or not to drink
